PMT e-Fire 10x3.0 R6.0 75/250 Tyre
Home/Store/Tyres, Tubes & Valves/Tyres/PMT (Italian)
Product Details
Brand: PMT

Consider new DynoRoad alternatives such as Xuancheng 10x3.0 (80/65-6) Shore A 65 or the slightly larger than 10x3 DynoRoad ULIP 90/60-6. Alternatively, consider the CST 10x3.00-6.

The 10x3.0 size accommodates most 10" scooters with 6" rim with narrower rims such as Kaabo Mantis 10 and VDM-10 models such as Dragon Raptor.

In the 1980s, Alessandro Pauselli, followed by his father Umbro sought the best performance and therefore, the best materials. In 2022 a few got together, formed PMT (Pauseli Model Tire Brand Family), producing Italian race tyres in a micro mobility range for eScooters, PMT range maintains a nice curved shape that provides the optimal performance for responsive and highly adhesive cornering.

e-Fire and Stradale are are for urban environments and offer excellent performance on hard surfaces in part due to the lower nameplate operating pressures and softer "hardness". eScootNow stocks the this common range. Junior adopts ultra-low pressures and has even lower hardness making it ideal for race and track use. The trade off with softer compounds and lower pressures is higher resistance and faster wear. Refer to the Compound (Shore A) rating in table below, noting the range is all under the 70 Shore A rating typically adopted by common tyres. The range of PMT tyres provide excellent adhesion, although it may be a costly way of going about it for general urban use.

  • If considering the wider 100 / 55 R6.5 size, consider your eScooter's rim width. Stradale 100 / 55 is recommended for wider hubs with nameplate support for rim width of 66mm - 72mm. Most / many 11" hubs are less than this (e.g. Teverun Fighter 11 / Supreme is ~60mm) which involves the tyre fitting slightly outside of it's intended design. Consider clearances with fenders, suspension, and brakes if considering a larger size tyre. You may find the narrower Stradale 90/60-R6.5 to ride more sharp, tight and with acute response on hard surfaces (roads/paths) than the wider 100/55-R6.5, it also specifies support for the more common 60-66mm rim width. The narrower tyre provides slightly more responsive cornering due to the relatively small contact surface area (footprint), improving downward pressure and associated grip properties. Wider is not always better, particularly at the nose (front). The narrower footprint also reduces likelihood of tyre interacting with hazard by a few mm, simply as it is narrower so has less exposure to hazards. The 90/65-6.5 and 100/55-6.5 have the same rolling diamater.
  • There are mixed views on suitability PMT's for everyday use from an affordability perspective. PMT's are generally 2-3 times the investment of the more traditional Chinese tyres such as those from CST and Tuovt. PMT being slightly "softer" will wear quicker than harder compounds however the better grip afforded from the softer tyres such as PMT (and in part due to lower nameplate tyre pressure) can offset that additional wear to a certain extent. To reduce excessive wear, riders should be conscious in governing throttle when operating in 100% power/gear modes, especially to the front wheel, to prevent wear. The effort required in governing throttle to prevent wheel slip can be easier with softer tyres because they have improved traction, however will wear quicker with wheelslip.
  • eScootNow does not hold stock of the T40/T41 slick, due to limited suitability of safe riding on wet hard surfaces such as after rainfall when surfaces maintain water / puddles. A TurboTread DynoSlick tyre is available for slick purposes.
  • The 10x3 does not stay well on the bead with Nami Klima, due to having width at bead of 42mm. For wider hubs 10 x 3.5 R6.0 (85/250R6.0) which is purposed for 2.75" (70mm) channel rims (70mm width at bead).
  • With regard to "Natural rubber" and "Nylon"... In 2021 when PMT pioneered radial tyres to eScooter market, people (particularly those on social media) started to refer to non-radial eScooter tyres as "Nylon", rather than using the more appropriate term "non-radial", assuming in part from vehicle tyre nameplates with RADIAL (for radial plies, often steel) or NYLON (for nylon cord tyres) or on the rare occasion Polyester (cord moulded into the "rubber"). PMT's being made in Italy, China being the largest producer of nylon, coined the term "Chinese Nylons". Likewise, PMT's are often differentiated as having a "natural rubber" compound, although this isn't explicitly explained by PMT. Nylon is a well known synthetic polymer (it's not rubber and doesn't' sound natural), which further encouraged the term "Nylon" to be associated with non-PMT tyres. Common classes of polymers used to produce tyres are Styrene-butadiene Rubber (SBR) and Polybutadiene (butadiene rubber / BR) and each manufacturer normally derives their own formula of additives for the vulcanisation process, which could include natural polymers such as Polyisoprene commonly used to produce latex rubber, derived from sap of trees. So Chinese Nylon's aren't Nylon and PMT's aren't Rubber.
  • eScootNow stocks two alternatives to the PMT in the TurboTread signature original range. Both adopt a similar "PMT Shape" and one has a similar tread pattern to Straddle:
    • DynoRoad SHM is the "PMT Copy / knock-off", AKA "CMT". Manufactured by Xuancheng. Contrasted to PMT Stradale, DynoRoad SHM is harder tyre with less resistance offering improving longevity and efficiency due to using a firm SBR compound (a type of synthetic butyl). Adhesion (traction) is improved through vulcanized Semi-Hot Melt (SHM) preparation. When at operating temperature the surface "melts" to a gel form (high viscosity) and therefore provides impressive adhesion with a long lasting compound. The nameplate PSI pressure rating of DynoRoad is also higher, like typical of "Chinese Nylons" at 50 PSI, which reduces resistance and provides a more efficient ride. This is a performance road tyre for ultimate adherence to hard surfaces in all weather environments at high pressure [one size, 100/55-6].
    • DynoSlick: is the semi-slick performance road tyre for high-demand use on predictable, hard surfaces for predominately dry weather at low pressure. Manufactured by AoXin available in 90/65-6.5 (oversized 11"), 85/65-6.5 (low profile petite 10") & 90/65-6 (oversized 10"). These tyres maintain softer pressures of 36PSI, similar to PMT Stradale and T4 slick, and beaning a semi-slick provides some resistance to aquaplaning.

Some of the 6.5" rim range... PMT Stradale is the 5th from left.
