Our refund policy follows the arrangements in accordance with Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC)
consumer rights and guarantees. eScootNow operates under jurisdiction of as per Australian consumer law. These basic rights imply acceptable quality, fit for a particular purpose, matches description, matches sample or demonstration model, extra promises, reasonable access to repairs and spare parts, title to the product, undisturbed possession and no hidden debts or charges.

Repair, replace, refund, cancel arrangements apply. Under the guideline, consumers are not entitled to a repair, replacement or refund under the consumer guarantees if:
- they got what they asked for but simply changed their mind, found the product cheaper somewhere else, or decided they didn't like the purchase or had no use for it.
- The problem with the product was caused by the consumer misusing it.
- They knew of or were made aware of the problem with the product before they bought it (but they may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund for a different problem with the product that wasn’t made clear to them before they bought it).
- asked for a service to be done in a certain way against the advice of the business.
- The problem with a service was caused by the actions of someone other than the business.
- Spare parts are tested in the factory as part of QA pass process and made available to undertake repair or to treat other goods in trade or commerce.
- eScootNow makes no warranty (against manufacturer defect or fault) expressed or implied on Spare Parts. Exceptions are often made for this, such as where there has been diligence undertaken in trade (fitting). Spare parts are not personal or household goods sourced for consumption. They are an input to undertaking the trade of repair of electrical, mechanical, or similar production of what is usually a personally owned eScooter. Be mindful of the risk factors and losses and setbacks in the trade of undertaking eScooter repair. Spare parts are typically supplied from production line stocks and while usually tested by the spare part manufacturer, it is possible they they may be defective prior to use. eScootNow does not test spare parts, in most instances only a visual inspection is undertaken. In a production line where all the components are new and there is a consistent process, risk of part failure is reduced and in that scenario there is typically some "warranty" of the component manufacturer which treats risk.
- Connecting spare parts to a non-known good working scooter is not a valid method of testing the item supplied. If you need to assure yourself item is supplied in good working order, please test in a known good working eScooter and maintain evidence of this. eScootNow recommends a person buying a spare part should seek to minimise risks of repair. For example, there is risk that a known good working spare part such as an electronic motor controller could be compromised when fitted or connected in repair, simply because, by nature of spare parts, they are used to repair something that is not known, good working. Cross-contamination, particularly with electronics, is always a risk to consider. It is recommended to test spare parts firstly in a known good working eScooter to satisfy it is known good working. For example with electronics, a controller may be damaged from fusion in the circuit it is connected to, such as due to a damaged cable, mis-wiring, or some other component. Often multiple components may be damaged, in some (but rare) circumstances, every part can be replaced twice and the repair still not successful due to some interoperability anomaly. If you have the capability, test the spare part before being used in the trade of repair in a known, good, working eScooter. eScootNow recognises this is not practical in most situations, nor is it practical for eScootNow to extend guarantees or warranties given the inherent risk. eScootNow makes no assurance that spares will not be without pre-existing or manufacturer (DOA) fault, nor sets any expectation with regards to the service life of the spare part as eScootNow has no control over the use (including fitting) and the environment in which it is used.
- eScootNow makes no guarantees of any specific product life of spare parts. eScootNow provides a spare part, not a commitment that the spare part will provide any particular period of service life. Some sensitive items, such as NFC readers and displays/dashboards can have a 5% of failure in 12 months.
Once a product is ordered, it can't be cancelled due to reasons such as change of mind, or mistake of customer unless otherwise arranged and agreed by eScootNow.
We will not be held responsible (but will assist) where product description is misunderstood or misread. Repairs, replacement, refund, or cancel applies if products are mis-represented, such as inappropriately described. In other circumstances, such as mutual mistake exceptions can be made for replace, refund or cancel. Payment transaction fees are typically not reversed.
Where returns are undertaken, they must be unused and in the same condition that you received it.
There are certain situations where partial refunds are granted (if applicable) and explanation will be provided to justify this rationale, typically where both parties are "at fault".
If you need to return an item for repair, replace, refund or cancel, advise by email at escootnow@gmail.com for approval and return instructions. Pictures and other evidence helps. Include the reason you require a refund. Do not ship your product to us without email approval and instructions.
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 3 to 7 business days, alternatively a replacement item despatched. Generally, all freight/postage is at customer expense.
Clearance items cannot be returned.
