100/90/65-6.5 Tube 45/90 degree (45/70 & 90/70) [TurboTube JY]

• The 100/90/65-6.5 tube accommodates (90/ and 100/ width) tyres with /65 profile such as 90/65-6.5 and 100/65-6.5.
• Also suitable for sizes in between such as 100/55-6.5.
• Available in two variants, both have 70 degree tilt (45/70 & 90/70):
  • 45 degree (150 grams) - reinforced valve, located off-centre (not shown, brass colour stem).
    45 degree (150 grams, 45/70/off-centre/reinforced)

This tube aligns the valve well where valve hole is located off-centre of the rim, adjacent to the bead/sidewall or where the valve hole faces outwards rather than towards the axil. This tube is often adopted as alternative to 90 degree (see notes).

• 90 degree (210 grams) - non-reinforced valve, located at centre (as shown in product images, silver colour stem).

This tube aligns valve well where valve hole is located in the centre of the rim, such as on non-motor hub split-rims.

• Black mould marking JY-XX (e.g. JY-01, JY-02). The 45 degree has additional markings of blue ring on "face side" and white nameplate 100/90/65-6.5.

Notes:

1. These 100/90/65-6.5 tubes generally have a slightly larger internal diameter than 90/65-6.5 tubes, assumed due to their support for the larger, higher profile 100/65-6.5. The design accommodates more appropriate inflation / expansion within the taller /65 profile than 90/65-6.5 tubes, especially in 100/65-6.5 tyres.
2. In some instances a 45 degree tube is more appropriate than 90, due to location of the valve hole. Image below shows hub with valve hole facing outwards (a tubeless hub), rather than toward the axil shaft (typical of tube type hub). With a 90 degree tube there is poor ground clearance and any more than 70 degree tilt poor tyre clearance. This one shown is marginal given valve is a relatively short length and only 70 degree.
   
   
   The off-centre, 45 degree tube at tilt of 70 degree (or less) is often more favourable than a 90 degree angle tube. Evolution of eScooter hub design in recent years such as larger motor housing and tubeless operation has influenced valve clearance and placement. Tube type hubs were more common in the early 2020's, with valve hole more towards the centre, at or adjacent to where split rims join together. The mainstream tube valve design of that era was predominantly centred, 90 angle, 70-90 tilt and reasonably long. Evolution through mid-2020 now has mostly tubeless rims, with greater prevalence of retrofitting tubes to tubeless hubs.
   
   By way of example, three image below show a tubeless to tubed conversion. The tube fitted is a 90/70 (90 degree angle, 70 degree tilt) and off-centre. The tube was fitted due to slight buckle and hairline rim crack, note the white two part epoxy. The 90 degree is not ideal in this instance as the valve hole is a) off-centre and b) faces outwards, resulting in tube running parallel to the sidewall. Fortunately the valve length is relatively short and the 70 degree tilt. 90/90's would likely see the stem rubbing against sidewall and stress the valve. A 45/70, off-centred with reasonable length is a good candidate - it would reflect the original tubeless PVR50 valve placement, somewhat parallel to the circumference. The PVR50 is often referred to as 90 degree but is actually an infinite angle determined by the rotational position with a 70 degree tilt.
   
   
   
3. Tips to right-fit the valve shape:
   • Consider the:
     • Appropriate motor housing clearance (the cavity between motor housing and the rim, is it particularly deep or narrow),
     • Location of the valve hole (centre, off-centre) and depth of "the valley" in the rim.
     • The angle of the valve hole and the valve placement when tube is inflated and sitting flush against inside of rim.
   • This will inform the desired tube properties of:
     • The valve angle (degrees: 90, 45 & 0).
     • The valve tilt (degrees, typically 90 and 70 degree but you will also have 60 degree types).
     • The location of the valve (centre, off-centre etc).
     • The valve length and location of the bend.
4. eSN photo's and description represents the product supplied. Tube design evolves, often without any notice from manufacturers. You will observe different / inconsistent valves shapes between brands and production batches. In most instances the tube supplied by most sellers will be reflective of product images due to overhead of maintaining listing hygiene. Without precision, the fit is chance and often appropriate valve shape is only determined when a tube is physically fitted.
5. Although the 45 degree version is observed to have valve located off centre, it is not as far off centre to the extent as observed on the 90 degree reference tube CST 90/65-6.5 tube - it is very close, by a small margin. The valve is also longer than the CST 90 degree but protrudes less "out to the side" due to the 45 degree angle.
