The suspension damper bush located inside the spring is responsible for stability and supports ride handling and responsiveness. TurboTouch offers various dampening strengths across four elastomers from Kaabo and Fibro. The 16mm size (outer diameter) is common on most 35mm spring systems and suitable for models such as Kaabo Mantis and Dragon Raptor.
Available as Kaabo factory stock (Chinese) or aftermarket Fibro (Germany):
As stock Kaabo factory spare ("Suspension Rubber"), the Kaabo factory original. They have a light yellow colour. They are an ungraded polyurethane bush for the 65mm long 35mm spring in Mantis 10:
16x6x46mm (suit Mantis 10 Front)
16x6x51mm (suit Mantis 10 Rear)
Only one strength, as observed on Wolf Warrior 11/GT with durometer measured typically 80 Shore A (soft), sometimes less (lower 70's).
These bushes can be cut down to side to accommodate the shorter length of the Kaabo Wolf Warrior X. There is some variation amongst X models, the 30mm (accompanied 45mm springs) & subsequent 35/36mm bushes on 50mm length spring.
As Fibroflex-Tubular Spring Elements, in three strengths to DIN ISO 10069-1. 16x6.5 in 20mm and 25mm lengths (Fibro's are produced in only these shorter lengths, so stack two bushes for suitable length).
Green (80 Shore A). Soft. Max compression of 7mm (20mm) / 8.7mm (25mm) at 950N (20mm) / 940N (25mm) which is around 212lbs. [246.5.016.020/025]
Yellow (90 Shore A). Medium. Max compression of 6mm (20mm) / 7.5mm (25mm) at 1620N (20mm) / 1580 (25mm) which is around 360lbs. [246.6.016.020/032]
Red (95 Shore A). Firm. Max compression of 5mm (20mm) / 6.2mm (25mm) at 1900N (20mm) / 1870N (25mm) which is around 423lbs. [246.7.016.020/025]
For Mantis 10 Front, adopt 25+20mm=45mm. For Mantis 10 Rear, adopt 25+25mm=50mm. These would be 1mm shorter than stock.
Typically required when renewal of existing suspension bush is required, including premature failure from dust/dirt build up, or for riders looking for more suitable suspension that caters for rider's riding style.
Supplied as individual bush. Generally two Fibro's are required for one "end". You would need qty 4 Fibro bushes to renew a Mantis or Dragon Raptor (both ends). Likewise, 2 pcs for rear of Warrior X (dual spring).
Notes:
Regarding VDM-10 including models such as Dragon (Raptor), Bolzzen (Dynamo/Gladiator), Apollo (Ghost), Carbon (Oxy) & e-Glide (Mach 10) and other ODM's. These adopt what appears to be 42mm front and 30mm rear bush
Use of petroleum / oil based products is not recommended. eScootNow recommends cleaning bush and spring using a silicone flush (often ~$8 can at ALDI Special Buys) followed by PTFE spray (such as the 300g can from SCA).
eScootNow stocks a range of 35mm springs which accompany these bushes. That page explains the strength of the genuine Kaabo factory red spring compared to aftermarket offerings such as the Chinese Brown, which is similar in strength and considered strong (heaviest). Springs deteriorate in strength over time, a spring beyond service life will usually have similar strength to a new, lighter spring.
Typically VDM-10 springs (such as those in Dragon Raptor) are very light, therefore stronger dampening (such as Fibro Red) is adopted and well received, often in conjunction with a heavier spring.
Don't forget to use a medium thread locker (such as Blue Loctite) on the high tensile suspension bolts such as the Kaabo Mantis pair screws.
Special notes for Application in Wolf Warrior X:
The Warrior X bush is identical to the Mantis 10 bush, just shorter - in which case you could cut down with a sharp "Stanley" knife.
Suits Zoom 2-piston callipers on Kaabo models of Mantis Pro & Wolf Warrior X/11/GT/GTR, Dragon Slayer and early model Lightning/Beast, later VSETT and hydraulic equipped Zero.
