Output (amps), input (voltage), output connector and sizes:
3A Fulcree 30-90V Dual USB-A
18mm * 46/63mm * 32mm @75 grams in ABS plastic housing (weight with double connectors).
3A XWST 8-85V USB-A + USB-C
18mm * 46/63mm * 32mm @70 grams in ABS plastic housing (weight without connectors).
4A XWST 8-72V Flylead with ACC Switched Input
22mm * 58/75mm * 40.5mm @97 grams in ABS plastic housing (without connectors) .
-90v and -85v accommodates eScooters with 72V system voltage, -72v accommodates eScooters to and including 60V.
Nameplate output: 5V at 3 amp (15 watts) or 4 amp (20 watts)
Conversion efficiency: >93%
No-load current loss: Fulcree <100mA, XWST: 25mA
Waterproof rating: IP67
Operating temperature: -40 to 40 degrees, to 80 degrees on lower current load.
Protections: Over-current / Over-voltage / Over-heat / Short-circuit / Anti-shock. No reverse polarity protection.
Note: 72V systems will exceed 85v when fully charged and under regenerative braking.
eScootNow hobbyist tips on Buck Converters:
Remember with wide voltage input Buck Converters, ensure you accommodate circumstances that would otherwise deplete battery to damaging reserve levels. eScooter battery packs typically enable this but often the battery charger connector circuit will not have this protection. I typically run a relay when implementing non-ACC (accessory) switched buck converters. Relay or ACC blue wire on ACC buck converters can take an input from he controller's light switch circuit or throttle/display power-on circuit. This isolates the buck converter when scooter is has lights turned off or is powered down.
It is best practice to keep the regulated circuit (secondary/output) of the Buck Converter isolated from the native DC circuit of your scooter. Do not bridge the two. This may also apply to the -ve of the regulated circuit for sensitive DC equipment.
