The 8.5x3.0 JY-01 tube Suits 8.5" tyre on 5.5" rims where valve extends at 90 degrees with 75 degree tilt. This tube is identical to the HOTA tube but heavier and with a more generous valve length (protrudes around 8mm longer than HOTA tube in part due to being slightly further off center). It is a great option for motor-less hubs on the makes/models listed on the HOTA Tube Page such as front wheels on Zero 9 & VSETT 9 series.
Often paired with 8.5x3" tyres such as the Tuovt or ULIP.
Typical weight 108 grams.
Reinforced valve.
Nameplate: embossed 8.5x3.0 JY-01 (blue line).
Notes:
For motor hub wheels, consider the or if the AoXin long valve tube which helps clear motor hubs..
Image below shows the predecessor to current stocks, which was very similar (including size) but lighter at 80 grams, without reinforced valve and nameplated in white with 8.5x2 which is a naming convention similar to that of HOTA ("8.5x2 for 8x3 tyre"). You may find older tubes in 8.5x3 tyres are marked as 8.5x2, like the one below - for these, replaced with what is now more commonly marketed as a 8.5x3 tube, as typically 8.5x2 tubes are skinnier and not suited to 8.5x3 tyres. The product images with comparison of 5 tyres shows this older version (embossed XDV852-11 B23 as KS:KY-TRE063).
Images below contrasts the Tuovt brand tube (left) with the predecessor mentioned in note 1 (right) at ~5PSI. Both have a 90 degree bend, however the Tuovt (left) has a tilt of near 90 degree rather than the 75 degree of the one on (right). It was observed the Tuovt (left) was lighter (~70 grams vs 80 grams). The Tuovt developed a flat when running in Tuovt 8.5x3 tyre. It is observed the Tuovt did not inflate uniformly which may have contributed to premature failure from pinch puncture (marked silver X).
