Suits 8.5x3 tyres on 5.5" rims where valve extends at 90 degrees with a true 90 degree tilt. Typically fitted to:
Zero 8 non motor hub (front), which is usually 45 degree but can accommodate 90 degree - consider the 60 degree tilt 90 degree tube as would have a more favourable 90 degree bend for the motor-less wheel hub (front). Rear is 200x60 solid.
VSETT 8 non motor hub (front) usually 45 degree but can accommodate 90 degree - consider the 60 degree tilt 90 degree tube as would have a more favourable 90 degree bend for motor-less wheel hub (front). Rear is 200x60 solid.
VSETT 9 series (9/9+). 90 degree on the motor hub, usually 45 on the motor-less wheel hub but can accommodate 90degree - consider the 60 degree tilt 90 degree tube.
Will not suit Zero 8X (200x90 solid) and VSETT 8+ (200x60 solid rear and (on more recent models) front. Also used in the iScoot Bexley 8 & 9 and Machine Vixen Light. Check the length of your valve stem to clear swing arms "forks" while maintaining easy inflation access. Often the CST 8.5x2.00-5.5 tube is used as the valve stem protrudes out slightly further without being too long however it is a "skinny" tube may not be ideal for 8.5x3" tyres..
HOTA is the OEM tube that is adopted by VSETT in production of the 9/9+ models. Initially paired with HOTA tyre until late 2021 when the factory switched to the more resilient Tuovt 8.5x3 tyre.
Perfect for fitting on 5.5" split rim with tyre such as the Tuovt 8.5x3.
Typical weight 77g.
HOTA branded. 142-28-01 nameplate (which appears unrelated to any size or dimension). SSB:L-37B.
Notes:
This tube differs from the CST 8.5x2.00-5.5, which is not ideal for 8.5x3" wide tyres. The CST tube has a true right angle tilt and long length stem for slightly different valve stem positioning. It does not present as "fat" as this HOTA tube, as it is designed for the 2" wide CST tyres, implying there is more expansion required if fitting a CST in a 8.5x3". The ULIP at 136 grams is understood to happily fill wide 8.5x3" tyres, but adopts a 60 degree tilt which isn't ideal for VSETT 9 motor hubs.
Brass coloured stem.
Always check your bend: 90, 60 and 0 degree. This is a 90 degree bend tube. Non-Motor hubs will often not adopt 90 degree valves due to clearance.
eScootNow stocks alternative 90 degree bend options:
The CST 8.5x2.00-5.5 is similar to this HOTA with regard to 90 degree tilt but features slightly longer valve stem length. It is the typical aftermarket tube provided by Australian VSETT distributor, Ride Electric.
