The NFC Throttle/Display (LCD to 60V) [VSETT | Dragon Raptor VDM-10 {Zero}] is available in two variants:
- As Non-branded alternative that is without VSETT branding, effectively a replica of original VSETT with some differences:
  - Two NFC cards.
  - Alternative style housing.
- As VSETT factory spare:
  - Supplied with three VSETT branded NFC cards (one being master).
  - Original VSETT housing.

Both variants have same functionality and similar reliability.

Suitable for models such as:
- Zero series models 8, 9, 10 (including X variants such as Zero 10X (T10-DDM)) and other ODM's such as Dragon X9 (T9) & Hunter X10 (T10-DDM), those from Bexley & Black Edition. Apollo (typically blue circle displays of) the Light (T9), 2021 model City (T10) and early model Pro & Explore (T10-DDM).
- VSETT systems to 60v including VSETT 8, 8+, 9, 9+, 10+ and 11+ (non-Super 72)
- Dragon Raptor and other VDM-10 models including Apollo Ghost, Carbon Oxy, Bolzzen Dynamo / Gladiator and eGlide MACH 10/10R.
Suitable replacement for the Dragon factory spare NFC display for Raptor (AUD$200 May 2026) and VSETT LCD NFC Display (AUD$115 May 2026).
Typically required to replace physically damaged / water damage of original NFC throttle/display, throttle mechanism failure or as plug-and-play retrofit to replace the non-NFC QS-S4 throttle/display which adopts the same signalling (they are interoperable). The uplift from QS-S4 to either of these NFC versions would provide NFC security card reader. If the model has an existing physical keylock, this would run in series (conjunction) requiring both key turn and NFC swipe to Power-ON.

Notes:

This 053.1 variant is for systems to and including 60 volts. The 8-digit voltage display on the VSETT 053.1 will not read above 68 volts, so for 72V systems such Zero 11X (X11-DDM) and other ODM's such as Dragon X11 or the VSETT 11+ Super 72 model. Those models require 072.1 designation, rather than 053.1 for the voltage display to function appropriately (and with P3 pre-configured for 72V). The main display can be used for voltage as alternative.
Always check the P-Settings when renewing throttle/display such as P3 Voltage, P6 Wheel Diameter, P7 magnets and P15 Controller cut off voltage.
There is a VSETT specific P-Setting reference from Rydology including details of P18 to bind and unbind cards. This instruction includes ability to bind cards with display off when cards are unusable. Unbinding all cards disables the need to swipe after powering on the scooter (this has been mostly observed on newer displays). To do this, turn on the display when it show "card" press and hold down + and -, then press start button 17 times (you will be at P18) then hold down - . During this process the display may remain blank. Then shut down scooter and start it again, there should be no card swipe challenge. As shown in video from Adam Welch.
P-Settings adopt those of QS-S4 which is well documented amongst Zero models, as are the error codes. Refer to the inaugural creators of the Zero Brand at Falcon PEV Singapore and Rider Guide or refer to the image below from Hernan Emir Castelan at zero E scooters one pager:

Will not suit VSETT Mini.
In most instances, eScooters with QS-S4 throttle/display (often marked 010.1 on rear) can be uplifted to the VSETT NFC throttle/display as a compatible upgrade, which provides Near Field Communication security (swipe card). This throttle/display uses the same signalling system and wire pinouts on the connector as the QS-S4 and offers an ascetic facelift uplift with improved enclosure.
It has been observed globally over several years that the P-Settings can reset unexpectedly on the VSETT NFC. There is no known fix for this issue. Renewing the throttle/display attempting to resolve this issue may not resolve the problem.

VSETT branded vs non-VSETT branded alternative

The VSETT NFC was initially adopted on VSETT scooters and an unbranded version with identical enclosure was released to post 2022 Dragon model on X9 (T9) and Raptor (VDM-10). More recently, a version with slightly different type of enclosure ("alternative") variant has become available. The alternative is shown on the left, the genuine VSETT factory spare product on right. The only notable differences between the two enclosures is that the VSETT version has four rather than two screws on the bracket and routes the NFC cable externally. The "alternative" has two screws with internal NFC cable routing. The trigger throttle mechanism at the rear is fully enclosed on the VSETT.
