Kaabo Main Line (Main Cable) for Wolf and Mantis
Product Details
Brand: Kaabo
The Kaabo Main Line (Main Cable for Wolf and Mantis) is the wiring harness that runs along the stem to connect controllers to handlebar instrumentation in models of Wolf and Mantis.
eSN adopts naming convention of [SM | XH | M8] X/X [Left/Right/Universal] Model {Display} (X-Colour), whereby:
[SM | XH | M8] references the JST connectors, rectangular black SM was on the very early models before transition to rectangular white XH. One cable (on GTR) has M8 connector on both ends.
X/X defines the count of the plugs with first identifier typically the number of round M8 connectors, followed by number of wire cores on the other end which are typically presented as pins for the JST connectors. Example below shows a 3/9:
[LHS/RHS/Universal] defines which "hand side" of the eScooter that the line runs, with Universal designating either side or a single side depending on the badge/build and instrumentation. For example, the 3-pin Yellow connector was originally solely purposed for headlight, but is also used for throttle on TFT and KM03 Central Display builds.
Model is a short form indicating the supported model(s) however there can be variances within models particularly across Mantis and Wolf X models as these have configure-to-order display/throttle options.
{Display} indicates the typical factory-fitted display(s) that accompanies the model(s). This designation helps determine which cable is appropriate for the build with display consideration. Where relevant retrofit alternative displays are mentioned, such as KM03 Central Display require a different cable to LT01 due to introduction of separate plug for throttle.
(X-Colour) describes the number of pins and colour of each plug.
Typically required when replacement is needed due to physical failure of original cable such as being "pinched" near entry to stem or frame, resulting in errors such as communications error or other unexpected behaviour. Often comes about simply due to being end-of-life (aged) and a continuity test of the existing cable confirms needing to be replaced.
Genuine Kaabo factory spare.
Notes:
Wires are fitted with factory-crimped JST pins for insertion into JST housing. Typically you re-use existing housing. If housing is required, add SM or XH as required.
Additional guidance for Mantis models:
The V1 and V2 with reference to Mantis 10 relates to the older SM connectors (V1) introduced near the start of the decade vs XH connectors (V2) introduced 2021. V2 is typically associated with wire collection board and introduced a headlight on models of Plus (Duo) and Pro+. Some relatively recent models of Mantis such as 10 Lite (UL) and Mantis X Eco use a different "version", without the 4-Blue connector for ECO/Turbo/Single/Dual Switch as single motor models and fitted with CM06 display/throttle that uses K2 protocol.
Additional guidance for Wolf Warrior 11 & GT models:
SM 2/5 Left is purposed as: 3-Orange Horn & front light switch, 2-Red Brake lever.
SM 3/10 Right is purposed as 6-Black Display, 4-Blue ECO/turbo/Single/dual switch, 2-Red Brake lever.
For Wolf GT models (TFT Pro and EY3 Pro+) and Warrior X (LT01 Pro and EY3 Pro+):
The left is universal.
XH 2/7 Left is purposed as: 6-Black for Horn and front light (+turn) switch and 2-Red for Brake Lever.
Right has two variants, the 3/10 which suits the EY3 / LT01 models and 3/9 for the TFT model (Wolf GT).
XH 3/10 Right is purposed as:6-Black Display, 4-Blue ECO/turbo/Single/dual Switch, 2-Red Brake lever.
XH 3/9 Right is purposed as: 6-Black Display, 3-Orange Throttle, 2-Red Brake lever.
The
XH 3/10 Right Mantis 10 (LT01/EY3) (6-Black, 4-Blue, 2-Red)
is identical to
SM 3/10 Right Warrior 11 Plus/Pro+ (inc King) (LT01/EY3) (6-Black, 4-Blue, 2-Red)
with respect to pinouts however the XH Mantis 10 is 6cm longer than SM Warrior Plus/Pro+ with lengths of 144mm vs 138mm respectively due to stem height & routing. The additional length on the Mantis main line is further "north" of the moulded junction, allowing the plugs to separate further.
It is understood that MKGT adopts the same main line across both left and right (universal), 9 core with the only difference being the JST SM connector housing being 8-pin and 9-pin.
