NFC Throttle/Display suit VSETT, Zero, Dragon (including VDM-10 Raptor) to 60V (TFT/LCD)

• This Throttle/Display suits models of:
  • VSETT 60v system such as VSETT 8, 8+, 9, 9+, 10+ and 11+ (non-Super 72).
  • T series (including DDM) such as Zero 8 8X 9 10 10X, and other ODM's such as as earlier Dragon X9, Hunter X10, Bexley Black Edition and Apollo Light, City, Pro & Explore.
  • VDM-10 such as Dragon Raptor, eGlide MACH 10/10R, Bolzzen Dynamo / Gladiator, Apollo Ghost and Carbon Oxy.
• Typically required to replace physically damaged / water damage of original NFC throttle/display, throttle mechanism failure or as plug-and-play retrofit to replace the non-NFC QS-S4 throttle/display which adopts the same signalling (they are interoperable). The uplift from QS-S4 to either of these NFC versions would provide NFC security card reader. If the model has an existing physical keylock, this would run in series (conjunction) requiring both key turn and NFC swipe to Power-ON.
• Available in two variants (mostly cosmetic differences):
  • As Non-branded alternative that is without VSETT branding with two NFC cards and adopts a alternative style enclosure. This variant is understood to be a "copy" of the original VSETT adopted design with proven similar reliability and functionality of the VSETT product.
  • As VSETT factory spare. Supplied with three VSETT branded NFC cards (one being master) and adopts the original style enclosure. The Dragon factory spare NFC display for Raptor also adopts this style enclosure.
• Rear nameplate marking NFC 053.1 with 6-pin male e-Bike waterproof plug. Wired for plug-and-play installation.
• Always check the P-Settings when renewing throttle/display such as P3 Voltage, P6 Wheel Diameter, P7 magnets and P15 Controller cut off voltage.

Notes:

1. The 053.1 variant is for systems to and including 60 volts. The 8-digit voltage display on the VSETT 053.1 will not read above 68 volts, so for 72V systems such as VSETT 11+ Super 72 and other X11-DDM 72V models such as Zero 11X (and Dragon "Warrior" X11 if 72V) you will need the 072.1 designation, rather than 053.1. This will provide appropriate voltage on the 8-digit display. The 053.1 display and indeed the voltage display within fully supports 72V, it is only the external 8-digit display that is limited to 68 volts.
2. Will not suit VSETT Mini.
3. There is a VSETT specific P-Setting reference from Rydology including details of P18 to bind and unbind cards. This instruction includes ability to bind cards with display off when cards are unusable. Unbinding all cards disables the need to swipe after powering on the scooter (this has been mostly observed on newer displays). To do this, turn on the display when it show "card" press and hold down + and -, then press start button 17 times (you will be at P18) then hold down - . During this process the display may remain blank. Then shut down scooter and start it again, there should be no card swipe challenge. As shown in video from Adam Welch.
4. P-Settings adopt those of QS-S4 which is well documented amongst Zero models, as are the error codes. Refer to the inaugural creators of the Zero Brand at Falcon PEV Singapore and Rider Guide or refer to the image below from Hernan Emir Castelan at zero E scooters one pager:



5. In most instances, eScooters with QS-S4 throttle/display (often marked 010.1 on rear) can be uplifted to the VSETT NFC throttle/display as a compatible upgrade, which provides Near Field Communication security (swipe card). This throttle/display uses the same signalling system and wire pinouts on the connector as the QS-S4 and offers an ascetic facelift uplift with improved enclosure.
6. It has been observed globally over several years that the P-Settings can reset unexpectedly on the VSETT NFC. There is no known fix for this issue. Renewing the throttle/display attempting to resolve this issue may not resolve the problem.

VSETT branded vs non-VSETT branded alternative

The VSETT NFC was initially adopted on VSETT scooters and an unbranded version with identical enclosure was released to post 2022 Dragon model on X9 (T9) and Raptor (VDM-10). More recently, a version with slightly different type of enclosure ("alternative") variant has become available. The alternative is shown on the left, the genuine VSETT factory spare product on right. The only notable differences between the two enclosures is that the VSETT version has four rather than two screws on the bracket and routes the NFC cable externally. The "alternative" has two screws with internal NFC cable routing. The trigger throttle mechanism at the rear is fully enclosed on the VSETT.
