Controller (otherwise known as ESC (Electric Speed Controller) to suit NAMI Electric scooter. "2400" = 2400 watts output, being 30 amps x 80 volts on a 72V system.
Suits the non-Max Burn-E 2 model, which is 1000w motor, 28Ah battery model introduced early 2022. For Max (35Ah) and 2 Max (32Ah and 40Ah) use the 50A 4000 controller which runs 1500w motors.
This model adopts a "plug-and play" fitment using a Water Proof / Integrated connector which has the three motor "phase" wires and hall sensor wires within a single, water proof, plug.
Naming convention (-A/B suffix on nameplate):
A = Rear (Main). This is the master controller and has a long (53cm) motor cable.
B = Front (Assistant). This is the slave controller. Has shorter motor cable.
Typically required when replacement is needed from physical damage, water ingress or mis-wiring. These controllers generally have pretty good reliability.
These are the latest generation controllers that feature a black wire that connects the two controllers together with a gold bullet connector for earthing purposes. Typically, these newer earthed controllers need be paired with a matching front/rear controller that also has the earth wire. Co-existing an earthed with non-earthed controller will typically throw motor and/or communication failure errors. If your other (working) controller does not have an earth wire, it will likely need to be replaced for interoperability.
Notes:
First product image shows Rear (-A) controller with 53cm length motor cable (to plug).
It is observed there are some variance in the type of enclosure, particularly with respect to the two threaded holes that attach the controller to bracket/scooter. One type is provisioned with M4 holes that accept thread to approximately 7mm length with 60mm centres (as shown in product images). The other type observed with M3 holes supporting approximately 4mm thread and 57mm centres. The later has 8 Philips screws to screw the enclosure together and two countersunk on adjacent to the threaded holes which appear to support the MOSFET heatsink, has no heatsink fins near the two holes, has heatsinking on the nameplate side and adopts two circular cable entry points rather than one rectangular. Brackets are not typically supplied consistently with the controller, it may be necessary to drill new holes in the bracket to match the controller centres.
When out of stock, pre-orders can be made and are typically filled within 3-6 weeks, as factory orders are placed monthly. If the item shows as in stock (available), this reflects local inventory, Brisbane.
