eScootNow's TurboTap NFC Bypass Switch with Aux Power Output is a factory prepared lead with a switch that performs the power on/off function that is traditionally performed by the NFC reader.
Designed for plug-and-play fitting on NAMI makes including Burn-e, Blast & Klima. Adopts a female M8 3-pin yellow connector using the same wiring configuration as that of the NAMI NFC reader.
Can be used as a direct replacement to the NFC reader, or co-reside with the reader for concurrent operation via an optional Y Splitter (1xF-2xM Y-cable).
The rocker switch may be considered more "convenient" than needing to constantly swipe cards. It can be mounted somewhat discrete underneath the handlebar. Many riders choose to have one "on hand" in event of NFC failure.
The Aux(illary) Power Output is delivered by a 2-pin male red M8 connector. It is live on Power-ON, either when bypass switch ON or when connected with Y splitter, NFC ON. It can be converted to Always-ON with inclusion of a Throttle Conversion Cable. Available sealed variant which is waterproof and secure, all ready to go as shown in green. The unsealed version (red) is without application of black 704 silicon adhesive glue in grommets at each end. The later is slightly lower cost and allows you to inspect or add additional cabling into the grommet before undertaking adhesion.
Notes:
Released November 2024.
Can be disconnected from main line (or y splitter) in event the switch needs to be disabled to fall back purely on NFC reader.
If the red M8 2-pin male Auxiliary Power Power Output is not to be used, ensure the supplied cap/cover remains fitted and secured with adhesive. The output is identical to that of the NAMI headlight, being M8 2-pin red. The output can be used, for example, to plug-and-play aftermarket headlights such as TurboTorch Cobra and BushMaster that are fitted with the NAMI headlight M8 2-pin red connector.
Co-design and peer reviewed by Michael Sha, NAMI - Ningbo, China.
Wire colours adopted match that of NAMI Main Line.
This product may be adopted by scooters that adopt a male plug on the NFC reader. Models adopting this include Teverun and Blade/TNE models including Bolzzen Commando 4818 + 4823. Image below shows inclusion of a 3 Pin Yellow Male-Male 6cm cable to convert the polarity. This implementation reverses polarity on the red 2-pin output as the 6cm cable is "straight through" or could be corrected with Throttle Conversion Cable.
