TurboTap Motor Wire Cable for NAMI Burn-e & Klima & Dragon Raptor X [BAMING]
Product Details
Brand: TurboTap by eScootNow Originals
The TurboTap Motor Wire Cable for NAMI Burn-e & Klima & Dragon Raptor X [BAMING] is fabricated by BAMING (BMING), the OEM of motor cable manufacturer that supplies motor cables to the motor factory for these makes of eScooters.
Typically used to renew physically damaged cable where wire is damaged (such as fusion in connector or severe insulation damage). Can also be used to retrofit quick motor disconnect capability to older bullet connector motor cables or for controller relocations.
These cables are custom fabricated for eSN. They are not offered as spare parts from NAMI or Teverun, nor are they supplied as a product by the motor manufacturer. Typically the only buyer of these would be the motor manufacturer such as Ningbo Jiangbei Junyuan Electromechanical Technology (OEM motors of NAMI / Kaabo).
Material guide:
Guidance to for application guide. The 6 variants are based on combination of connector type [JH26|JH30], gender [M|F] and the length:
Connector type:
JH26 is adopted on all NAMI Burn-e models with exception to the Max 35Ah (which was the inaugural model, non-2, discontinued late 2022 and used bullet connectors).
JH30 is adopted on NAMI Klima and Dragon Raptor X (later generation VDM-10 with central display) May also suit the smaller Teverun models such as Fighter Mini, check the product image showing the internal diameter of the male plug vs the larger one on Teverun Fighter ULTRA controller. Screw type connector.
Gender:
This relates to the conductors (not housing). Male has male pins, Female has receptacles. Note that on NAMI, the gender differs between JH30 and JH26. For example with motors Burn-e has a male plug whereas Klima & Teverun have female plug.
Length:
Regarding lengths:
The lengths are inclusive of the moulded connector and the 90mm area where the outer insulation is stripped back (i.e. end-to-end).
For motor lengths, we took observed length of wires on NAMI motors (from and including moulded connector to the side of motor hub) and added 200mm to account for routing inside the hub and some slack. In most instances if terminating inside the motor you will shorten lengths by 50-100mm.
For controllers, we observed length of the longest wires amongst NAMI controllers (to controller housing) and used that length (500mm) as these are typically terminated inline and not inside the controller.
Outer diameter 8mm of wire including outer insulation.
Notes:
The JH[26|30] designation does not appear to reflect any specific property of the two types of connectors. It is likely a sequential identifier in that the JH26 was released firstly, JH30 subsequent. Both connectors have 4mm² contacts for the motor phase wires however length of pins on JH26 are longer (at 12mm) vs JH30 (8mm). Both JH26 and JH30 tend to have good reliability on NAMI models.
The JH26 has maximum diameter of 16.5mm forming a 100mm length total moulded section when joined, whereas the JH30 is wider at 20mm with a shorter total moulded length of 80mm. Teverun motors adopt a connector that appears like a JH30 but is larger as shown below:
The motor phase wires on both JH26 and JH30 have observed wire diameter of 2.56mm (shown below) which is almost AWG10 (5.26mm²). The JH30 connector is also known as L915 although often fitted with significantly smaller gauge wire of 2.5mm² (AWG13, 1.83mm diameter) such as example 1 & example 2.
Protective spring(s) are fitted on the lengths for the motors.
The JH30 female has a black o-ring to assist form seal. The size is approximately 14mm outside diameter, 1mm cross section. Ensure this is present and fitted as easily dislodged.
Can be joined to form tooling to swap motors between controllers to fault-find / troubleshoot motor and controller faults (e.g. NAMI error code 201 rear, 202 font).
Product images show JH30 male (left, silver) and JH26 female (right, black). There are more photo's of the motor plug on the Burn-e motor page and Klima motor page.
Consider using Gold Bullet Connectors if needing to join flyleads as they typically form a better connection than simply soldering flyleads together.
Apply a professional contact cleaner (aerosol spray) prior to fitting and as part of preventative maintenance. Corrosion of the contacts will result in thermal issues.
Images showing the larger version of the JH30 connector that is on the rear of Teverun Fighter Ultra. This controller pushes 55 amps (72V). It is observed the connector can melt (from heat). This is likely influenced by absence of o-ring, the amount current, environmental exposure, contact contamination, bend radius, wire thickness and how well it is "plugged in".
Refer to the Reference Material Page for further resources on motor wires including colours etc.
Refer to the extract below of NAMI Burn-e models from the Reference Material Page. The "Motor Cable Disconnect" designates JH26 connector.
Motor disassembly is shown in factory video from Michael Sha:
Like all eSN products, if showing in stock (available), this reflects local inventory, Brisbane, Australia.
Renew motor seals periodically. Bearings as required, reported to be 6203 and 6204 on Burn-e 2 Max (1500w) according to Yann Lesueur and observed on nameplate of bearings in the 1500w Bullet product photo's (6204-2RS-Z3V3 and 6203RS).
Factory fabricated to eSN's specification across 18 variants in length, spring force & assemble. Suits NAMI Burn-e & Klima, Kaabo Wolf GTR & Mantis GT, Teverun Fighter, KuKirin G2 Master, VSETT & Zero etc
