The TurboCharge Conversion Cable GX16 3-Pin Male is a prepared lead that allows you to use suitable chargers that have an "older" GX16 plug to modern eScooters that have the "newer" moulded plastic charging port connector.

To ensure legacy chargers safe use and conformance to certification, ensure you always connect this cable to the charger prior to inserting into the eScooter charging port. In most instances you will keep this cable permanently attached to the scooter. If you are using your charger to charge other eScooters (with different plugs), when removing ensure you disconnect this cable from the eScooter charging port. Do not leave the GX16 3-pin male end of the cable exposed as those pins you see on that plug, when connected to eScooter charging port are live. This is why all eScooter manufacturers have progressed to the newer black plastic plugs, or a Reverse GX16 2-pin such as that on modern NAMI builds.

Background: The design intent of newer black plastic charging ports are such that they do not expose conductors of the pins externally, so as to reduce potential for the pins from shorting. For example, child inserting metal screwdriver into port. The line is typically live at relatively high voltage. If pins are shorted, a significant amount of current can be drawn. The phenomenon known as an arc fault, throws an arc flash where intense heat (reaching over 19,426°C) vaporizes the conductor material, instantly changing it from a solid to a gas before it solidifies again as molten droplets. The metal released, vaporized, or expelled when an electrical plug shorts out is commonly referred to as molten metal (liquefied copper), metal spray, or arc shrapnel. Shrapnel/Debris, typically solid metal is ejected by the pressure wave of the arc and poses risk similar to that of hot embers in bushfire. A black soot or residue results from the condensed vaporised metal and typically the pins no longer exist in their original form (absent) or significantly damaged (which if continued to be used pose risk of generating excessive heat.
Special mention for Dragon Hurricane, the stock charger and thus certification of the eScooter (the battery and charge capability) is 4 amp charger. There is no certification for the typical 5 amp charge which is common on most "fast chargers" including those on NAMI and Kaabo. This is not to say that the battery and the BMS (the "Battery Management System" inside the battery pack) would accept 5 amps, or greater, however as 4 amp chargers are not common you can expect eSN to have stocks of the TurboCharge XVE550 series in a 4 amp for the 72V's to satisfy the Hurricane 4 amp certified limitation, with the stock Hurricane friendly YJ20 in May 2026. These are retailed by the Dragon Brand owner and available when in stock for AU$300 inc GST (and hidden from showing in stock when there is no stock, so be cautious in your customer journey).
Notes relating to "Second generation" Dragon GTS and GTR Models (including V2): Use pin 1 +ve, pin 2 -ve configuration which according to the brand owner is adopted on VIN's shown below, known as 2nd Generation charger. Models prior were also GX16 but with pin 1 +ve, pin 3 -ve. Models subsequent were moulded connector's. So use this cable on these models if you are adapting the more common pin 1+ve, 3-ve charger:
Notes relating to INMOTION S1: Ensure you use appropriate voltage charger, ideally the relatively uncommon 63V as S1 is a 54V system. Using a 58.8V charger ordinarily for 52V systems will only partially charge the battery.
