Chargers suit Dragon Hurricane, Lightning V2 and Predator (Langfeite)
Here they are folks, chargers for Langfeite/Dragon models... hens teeth! At present time of writing, and for several months now unavailable, out of stock.
Without these, you are up for UBER's to get to work and that isn't productive.
You could purchase an overpriced $150 standard (<2A) charger for the Predator which is suitable voltage for Lightning V2 but it's best to put your hard earned towards a fast charger (5A).
When the brand owner (Bike Scooter City) is well out of stock of fast chargers for models including Hurricane and Lightning V2, eSN will get you back on the road. We have the goods.
We stock the same XVE OEM chargers used on the Dragon branded models, with Australian RCM compliance. Sourced directly from the XVE factory, Shenzhen.
We stock them for Kaabo (above) and Teverun/Dualtron (below).
The charging port on the Dragon/Langfeite models Hurricane, Lightning V2 & Predator is this type (Hurricane / Predator/Lightning V2 identical):
You simply replace / swap out the proprietary charging port(s) on scooter with something like the GX-16 as shown on the right with the yellow XT30 battery connector. We also stock a range of conversion cables to accommodate different plugs (of eScooters / chargers), as shown on the left.
In addition to the original Langfeite/Dragon stock XVE charger, we also stock MC and YZ chargers, each with their own merits over the XVE. For example the MC is over-engineered with larger, lower RPM fan and inclusion of power switch. Our YZ500 has a display informing voltage level (% charge) and current (amps), it is lightweight.
Current stocks of XVE550 (550 watt base) are provisioned with plugs for Kaabo and Teverun/Dualtron. The XVE248 semi-fast charger has the common old school GX16 3-Pin. We adapt these to the NAMI Reverse GX-16 2-pin connector with a conversion cable. We stock both the NAMI chargers and MC with NAMI Reverse GX-16 2-Pin connector, which is our recommended non-proprietary non-exposed connector.
The Dragon/Langfeite XVE plug is private label, so you can only source it from the brand owner (when they have stock). The exclusivity substantially lessens competition and results in restricted access to an essential inputs required to maintain serviceability and function of an electric scooter. You can learn more about misuse of market power on the ACCC web site, or alternatively go about fitting a more open, commonly available charging port if you feel you are capable and take precaution.
Note the original private label charging port is chosen in part due to compliance with being safe and insulated when charger is not connected. The GX16 3-Pin charging port while common does not have this safety feature. You may prefer to transition to the connector of the NAMI Reverse GX16 2-pin charging port, which like the original Dragon/Langfeite does not have exposed pins and deemed safe for compliance.
Ensure you keep evidence that the scooter was unserviceable due to unavailability of spares from the brand owner in event you are challenged by "warranty void" claims. You are entirely within your consumer rights to maintain your scooter and swap out a charging port in the event the brand owner is unable to get you back on the road in a timely manner as intended of the asset purchase. You should not be coerced to outlay $150 for a <2A charger when other retailers provide quievelants in market for sub $100, or fast ones at $80 less than the BSC listed price.
Choose a 67.2V charger for 60V Dragon LIghtning V2 (and Predator), 84V charger for 72V Dragon Hurricane. The NAMI charger is fitted with connector for the NAMI Reverse GX16 2-pin charging port, or you can use any of the eSN TurboCharge units with the more common eSN GX-16 3-Pin, then add option for conversion cable to adapt the 3-pin to the NAMI 2-pin.
Chargers are made available exclusively for eSN Club Now members including trade and ABN holders. Do not go about sourcing non-RCM compliant chargers such as those sold on AliExpress, eBay and often local retailers. They are not deemed safe for use.
