TurboTorch Casual 700/14Wh Headlight [Yaqi Y10]
Product Details
Brand: TurboTorch
The TurboTorch Casual 700/14Wh Headlight [Yaqi Y10] delivers 700 Lumen (lm) of light output with 14 Watt Hours battery and is the best performing sub $50 headlight for use on eScooters due to having:
Dual Cree XT-E emitters producing an observed colour of approximately 6000 kelvin.
Not too white / blue so as to reduce glare and reflection which improves visibility and comfort.
15 degree lens.
Narrow throw which improves brightness well ahead of the rider in distance and minimises unwanted spill.
14Wh delivered by 4400mAh battery (2 x 2200mAh 18650 cells) with USB Type C that supports concurrent charge at all brightness levels.
The internal battery can be complimented with external USB battery bank to scale runtime.
Light output is adjusted digitally to retain consistent brightness through battery draw-down.
Expect runtimes of:
2.5 hours on high. ~6 watts (1.6 amps).
4.5+ hours on medium: ~3 watts (0.8 amps),
10+ hours on low: ~1.3 watts (0.35 amps).
Due to beam width being narrow, a good option is to run two lights on medium to deliver 700 Lumen (lm) more efficiently than a single fixture on high.
UI: 1. Low, 2. Medium, 3. High., 4. Slow Flash, 5. SOS, 6. OFF (long hold also OFF).
3 LED's (green, blue, red) to show Battery Status. Green to down to 50%, Blue down to 25%, Red down to 10%, Flashing red <10%, Flash green = charging.
IP65 waterproof aluminium alloy housing with 360 degree adjustable holder and that clamps to handlebar with quick release.
Weight: 180 grams (218 grams with handlebar bracket), size: 95mm x 46mm x 25mm.
Notes:
No-flicker as circuit is constant (does not Pulse width modulation (PWM)).
Originally released in 2023 with slightly warmer 5000 kelvin XP-G2 emitter (188 lm/W). Subsequently transitioned to cooler 6000 kelvin XT-E in 2025 (178lm/W). XT-E has a slightly less efficiency (4%), the narrower beam (115 vs 120 degree, before fixture lens) and cooler colour performs better overall.
Manufactured by Dongguan Yaqi Outdoor Products Co., Ltd. who ODM as Mangel Eyes brand. Reverse image searching the manufacturer product image in AliExpress presents the same headlights inappropriately marketed as high as 5000 & 8000 lumens.
