NAMI Burn-e Max Controller 4000-A / 4000-B

• Controller (otherwise known as ESC (Electric Speed Controller) to suit NAMI Electric scooter. "4000" = 4000 watts output, being 50 amps x 80 volts on a 72V system.
• Suits Burn-e Max Models, specifically:
  • Max: 35Ah
  • 2 Max: 32 and 40Ah (often marketed as "3")

Not suitable for Burn-e 2 (non-Max 28Ah) which adopts 30A / 2400 controller.

• Choose the appropriate variant to ensure "plug-and play" fitment, negating need to modify the three motor "phase wires" and hall sensor connector. There two variants are:
  
  
  
  • Bullet Variant: suits older models, typically most Burn-E Max (non-2 models) - these were produced in 2021. Adopts three separate motor "phase" wires (green, blue, yellow) with gold bullet connectors and a black JST SM 5-pin connector for hall.
  • Water Proof (WP) / Integrated Variant: suits the newer models, typically those produced after 2021. This variant has an integrated moulded connector "quick disconnect connector" that has the three motor "phase" wires and hall sensor wires within a single, water proof, plug.

Check the existing connector and match. It is also possible to "modify" the inappropriate version (with effort) in the event the desired version is unavailable.

• Naming convention (-A/B suffix on nameplate):
  • A = Rear (Main). This is the master controller. Identified by having yellow 3-pin M8 connector for convertor.
    On the Water Proof (Integrated) connector version, the motor cable on this controller is longer than the B front controller.
  • B = Front (Assistant). This is the slave controller.
• Typically required when replacement is needed from physical damage, water ingress or mis-wiring. These controllers generally have pretty good reliability.

Notes:

1. These are the latest generation controllers that feature a black wire that connects the two controllers together with a gold bullet connector for earthing purposes. Typically, these newer earthed controllers need be paired with a matching front/rear controller that also has the earth wire. Co-existing an earthed with non-earthed controller will typically throw motor and/or communication failure errors. If your other (working) controller does not have an earth wire, it will likely need to be replaced for interoperability.
2. When out of stock, pre-orders can be made and are typically filled within 6 weeks, usually less, as factory orders are placed monthly. If the item shows as in stock (available), this reflects local inventory, Brisbane.
