The Near Field Communication (NFC) card reader is "tapped" with included to provide a proximity security lock to power on/off all NFC enabled* NAMI Electric models of Burn-e, Klima and Blast.
The current version (Q4 2024) mounts to Cable Holder (sold separately) which is on V3 Main Cablemodels typically with Front Turn Signal. A M3 6mm socket head screw is included for mounting to the holder.
Typically required when replacement is needed due to failure of original unit. It can be common for these to fail prematurely, particularly the earlier versions, the newer Q4 2024 yet to stand the test of time.
Genuine NAMI Factory Spare, wired for plug-and-play installation.
Notes:
Not suitable for NAMI Stellar series as they have NFC built-in to Dashboard (display).
* NFC enabled: Versions with a V2 or V3 Main Cable(factory stock NFC equipped). If intending to retrofit a NFC reader to a non-NFC enabled version (typically most pre-2025 models), you will require a V2 or V3 NFC Main Cable and corresponding NFC enabled Dashboard that supports the power ON / OFF switching for NFC.
The factory has had three versions, the earlier two versions are discontinued.
Pre-2024 Q3 (~August) NAMI NFC models were inaugural units were the type that had a white light at bottom and two ordinary rectangular cards.
In 2024 Q3, NAMI adopted a different unit, not NAMI branded, with a noticeably different enclosure (it is not as tall), with a blue light top left and three cards (two ordinary rectangular with introduction of one round Super Card). This unit is similar to that adopted by Teverun.
The 2024 Q4 is the latest / current model. Includes two rectangular cards. Adopts a 6 side shape with embossed NAMI branding. Mounts via the Cable Holder (mounting bracket) with M3 6mm socket head screw.
DJ High Voltage: Binding (pairing) NFC and Credit Cards (Australia) on Pre-Q2 2024 version. eSN does not recommend going about binding cards if you are not experienced as there is risk of rendering cards inoperable (see notes below):
Michael Sha: Binding to phones with Chinese cards (only works with Chinese cards on Chinese devices/phones):
Video's showing binding on Q4 2024 version adopted on Teverun models, which has the round Super Card (see note below):
eSN warns againstbinding cards if you are not experienced as there is risk of rendering cards inoperable. It is understood there are binding limitations. Binding is the process of pairing cards with readers. The older readers were equipped with white LED light and two rectangular ordinary cards, either could commence binding by holding the card (one that is already bound) for a few seconds seconds, which activates the binding process with the light flashing and the reader would bind the next swiped card. There is a limit to the number of cards the reader can bind (or possibly attempt to bind) as there is a memory bank in which stores an array of cards. It is not possible to selectively remove (unbind) a card and the bank can be problematic if there are excessive bind attempts. This can result in registered cards being dropped and/or newer cards being refused (FIFO first in, first out without the out). The Q3 2024 readers with blue LED light adopts a 3rd card which is round (Super Card) which when swiped for 8 seconds activates the binding process. The super card eliminates any accidental binding that initiate with the older reader as the ordinary cards cannot trigger binding due to unexpectedly long (held) swipe. The Q4 2024 version reverted to two rectangular cards.
