Product Details
Brand: Kaabo
- The Kaabo Wolf Warrior 11/X/GT/GTR Headlight is considered a great value wide voltage headlight offering excellent price vs lumens output. It is one of the best stock factory headlights adopted amongst eScooter manufacturers with a reasonable throw to around 15-20 degrees and reasonable colour.
- Throw is not significantly long and has with some unwanted spill but performs better than most crappy headlight fixtures on AliExpress.
- These are stock on Wolf Warrior Series including Wolf Warrior 11, Wolf Warrior 11 King, Wolf Warrior X and Wolf Warrior GT Series, typically connected to the native system voltage output (60/72V).
- Marketed voltage range support 12-80 volts. Current draw observed by eSN cold (different meters used in 12V vs 83V tests):
- 12V: High 1.8A (21.6 watts), Low: 0.44A (5.3 watts).
- 83V: High 0.31 (25.0 watts), Low: 0.09A (7.4 watts).
- 4 state stateful UI: High, Low, Flicker, Off.
- State transitions are triggered via input power cycle.
- The Flicker and Off sequence isn't ideal for quick low/high beam switching, especially with latching type switch mechanism on the stock switch which requires 6 presses to cycle all modes.
- Available as 11 (including King and X) or GT spare. They differ only in cables:
- 11 including King & X (Long cable, JST SM):
Suits Wolf Warrior 11 (including Warrior King) and X models, fitted with 1.1m cable which extends to the deck to connect to controller (Black JST SM connector, on 11 & King models). The cable for this variant has factory-fitted JST SM crimped connectors on the two wires, typically you fit the supplied black JST SM housing once the cable has been fed through to deck, noting the colour/polarity.- For the Wolf Warrior X, headlight terminates in deck to the wire collection board with (typically white) JST XH connectors. There is usually a conversion cable to convert the JST SM from this headlight to the White JST XH as shown image below bottom left.
- This Long cable, JST SM can be retrofitted to GT/GTR models. Retro-fitment involves cutting down the length of the cable to terminate into the ECB on the stem and re-terminate the two wires with crimp XH connectors (typically requires specialist crimping tool, or simply solder to existing). This approach is suggested in event the GT Spare is out of stock.
- For the Wolf Warrior X, headlight terminates in deck to the wire collection board with (typically white) JST XH connectors. There is usually a conversion cable to convert the JST SM from this headlight to the White JST XH as shown image below bottom left.
- GT & GTR (Short cable, JST XH):
These models have the headlight cable of 35cm length and terminate to the wire collection board housed on the stem in the Electric Controller Box (ECB), (White JST XH connector). The cable for this variant has factory-fitted JST XH crimped connectors on the two wires, typically you fit a white JST XH housing once the cable has been fed through the ECB.
- NAMI (M8 Red 2-Pin Female):
We periodically have headlights fitted with 35cm M8 Red 2-Pin Female connector which is the type used on NAMI (models Burn-e, Klima, Blast, Stellar etc). This is a plug-and-play, drop-in replacement for stock NAMI headlight. It is a good option for a reasonable sub $100 fixture.
- 11 including King & X (Long cable, JST SM):
- The mounting hole accommodates an M6 bolt (it is not threaded). Optional brackets available:
- Wide bracket: Suits Wolf Warrior 11, 11 King and X series. Bracket attaches to outside of fixture mounting point.
- Narrow bracket: Suits Wolf Warrior GT series (including King GT) and Wolf King GTR. Bracket attaches to inside of fixture mounting point for stem controller box.
Both brackets include bolts to fix the light to the bracket (2 x Socket Head Bolt M6x16mm, lock washer and M5 lock nut).
- Fixture weight: 265 grams.
- Genuine Kaabo factory spare.
Notes:
- If intending to connect the headlight in conjunction (concurrently) with the existing headlight, to run two/dual headlights, the wire collection board has two light outputs designated on black / white diagrams/labels as 10/7 Head Light and 14/8 native system voltage. As the headlight supports 12-80V, you can use either, with the high voltage preferred to reduce loss given current. Note as fixtures are stateful, the transitions could go out of sync between two headlights due to tolerance and switching, so it is best to fit a secondary switch for second headlight.
