The TurboTap Motor Hall-Effect Sensor PCB [41F: 60 degree | 120 degree | NAMI] has the common digital latching type sensor (such as 41F) that is used on most BLDC motors on eScooters. eSN also stocks a NAMI OEM Factory spare original variant.
Supplied as PCB with three sensors across four variants:
41F 60 degree version (close spacing), as shown in product image on timber workbench with 5 flylead wires. Note the centre sensor is mounted offset for inversion.
41F 120 degree version is a longer PCB. Available in two variants:
Even spaced and
Uneven spaced.
TBC 120 degree NAMI is the original NAMI Factory Spare to suit Motors of NAMI Burn-e (1500w & 1000w), Klima, Blast and Stellar. As shown in product image fitted to motor.
Order quantity two (2) for both front and rear wheels.
Notes:
Hall sensors are responsible for wheel positioning (rotation / speed). They typically have 5 relatively thin wires that ultimately lead to the controller. If there is a fault with hall signalling, errors are thrown (such as 201 rear / 202 front motor error on NAMI systems) or throttle may cut out unexpectedly. On occasions the fault can be ignored with degraded performance. Often they can be intermittent and get worse as the sensors degrade. It is not recommended to "ride through" motor errors, as the positioning plays an important roll high current switching (and stress on controller).
Often sensors are cut from the PCB and retrofitted to existing hall sensor PCB and/or cut to modify the length for appropriate placement. Unless explicitly advised (such as in case of NAMI factory variant), PCB's are not universal / common amongst motors, each motor usually has a specific custom-shape requirement.
You typically clean out the motor (rust etc), assess bearings and fit new seals (e.g. NAMI) when renewing halls.
Video demonstrates hall sensor testing:
Sensors which are drop-in replicable (digital latching type) include:
41F (most common, to 1000W). SS41F is the Honeywell manufactured designation (usually specific manufacturers have a prefix).
43F (typically for 1000-2000W).
413 (typical for 1000-2000W+).
Other sensors include 3144 & 3413 which are more common in eBikes and N41/4601.
