TurboBrake HB427-4S 4-Piston Brake Calliper

• TurboBrake HB427-4S is eSN's contemporary 4-Piston hydraulic calliper.
• Reliable replacement offering better performance than more common 2-piston callipers and supports most makes/models of eScooters.
• 4S designation = 4-Piston Standard class. This is a contemporary calliper with similar performance of Logan, Zoom and NUTT with conservative "footprint" for clearance. HB427-4S is essentially the 4-piston version of the HB427-H which is the stock calliper on most Dragon (Langfeite) models including Cyclone, Predator, Lightning & Hurricane.

• Available in Left or Right orientation. This orientation defines the location of the hydraulic line termination as you look at the outer side of calliper mounted on scooter. For example, a calliper with right orientation, sitting on top of swing arm will suit rear right hand side of scooter & front left hand side. It will also suit front right hand side if located "behind the fork". See notes for further info, as a general guide:
  • NAMI = Left.
  • Kaabo Warrior = Right with exception to the GTR which adopts Left at front.
  • Kaabo Mantis 8/10 = Left.
  • Teverun Fighter = Left.
  • Dragon Hurricane = Right orientation.
• Supplied with Long or Short hydraulic line (hose), industry standard BH59 type with TEKRO style barb.
  • Short, for front is 1.28 meters length.
  • Long, for rear is s 2.1 meters length.

Lengths are derived from that of NAMI Logan 4-Piston (Burn-e) which is the most generous of all common 11" wheel scooters.

Hose terminates on the outside of calliper rather the inside adopted on HB427-4M and Logan 4-piston to help clear tyre sidewall. The non-banjo design reduces exposure of hose termination to damage.

• Supplied with factory fitted Logan 4-Piston type pad (all-metal, non finned). Will not support the slightly narrower pads of NUTT YD-03 cooling enhanced (resin/ceramic) due to heatsink conflict (heatsink would need be shaved back). The Logan 4-Piston style pad is available in 4 compounds.
• Optional bleed adaptor: The adaptor is not included in the common bleed kits. This adaptor suits all HB427 series brakes (including the Yellow Dragon branded callipers) and is identical to that in the Teverun bleed kit. Will also suits NUTT systems (with additional o-rings). Only a small amount of thread on the end of the adaptor forms connection with the lever. eSN recommends having two for full bleed top and bottom. Without these adaptors you would need resort to augmenting the common bleed kit adaptors with O rings and/or plumbers tape.
  
• Current stocks are unbranded or with ST nameplate branding for Showtime FMX High Octane Entertainment. A small quantity of the Teverun branded (7260R V1 spare) are also available (without brackets, with heat sink pads). Branding is on the outer face on the calliper housing.

Notes:

1. Typically paired with the TurboBrake Lever or the higher end CNC Ball Bearing Edition lever.
2. Examples of orientation adopted on popular makes/models (always check your own build):
   1. NAMI has Left orientation.
      Rear is on the left hand side above swing arm, hence Left. Front is on the right hand above swing arm on Burn-E and Klima, and on left behind the "forks" on Blast which are all Left orientation.

   2. Kaabo Wolf Warrior Series has Right orientation with exception for GTR front.

      Rear is on the right hand side above swing arm, hence Right. Front is on the right hand side, behind the "forks" hence right.
      
3. The IS Mount bracket (adaptor) mounts the calliper to the scooter. The 160mm (rotor size) is adopted using industry standard convention, however not all makes/models of eScooters adopt this convention. Often eScooters will require a different size bracket to the standard convention to seat the calliper appropriately relative to the rotor. There are two common types:
   • F-180 R-160 bracket (supplied with HB427-4S left long & right long):
     Taller bracket: 22 & 22mm offset (height).
     This bracket is adopted on NAMI Burn-e, Kaabo Wolf Warrior 11/GT Series and Factory Teverun Fighter 11 front/rear. Note some Wolf Warrior's are observed with a 19 & 19 ("no washer") bracket.
   • F-160 R-140 bracket (supplied with HB427-4S left short, right short):
     Shorter bracket: 11mm & 7mm offset (height).
     Adopted on NAMI Klima. Near identical to that of the Kaabo Wolf Warrior King/GT rear (Wolf is precisely observed as 12/7).
     
     Teverun branded callipers are without brackets. If renewing, typically existing brackets are used. If a different bracket is needed, add comment at checkout. Note, as mentioned the industry standard designation may not necessarily relate to the rotor size of your specific make/model. For example, Warriors have 160mm rotors and use a F-160 R-140 bracket on rear.
     
     Image below shows the rear of NAMI Klima with the stock F-180 R-140 bracket. A slight shave to the swing arm brake mount plate to accommodate the calliper body.
     
     By way of comparison, Magura MT5e on NAMI Burn-e, stock 160m size rotor shown below. With Magura it is typically necessary to stand off the calliper with an IS Mount and piggy back a PM Mount (Post Mount) such as A2 from Keep R-unning Store or 006 180-180 Black from MUQZI Official Store
     
     
     
4. Image below shows the hydraulic line (hose) supplied with TurboBrake callipers. This calliper includes the type on left, identical to the TurboBrake 2-Piston HB427-H hose. This is a TEKTRO style fitting (hence the inclusion of BH59 insert (needle/barb) with washer). Calliper includes 4-piece kit comprising of the olive, compression nut, boot and the O ring washer. The compression nut adopts the common thread of M8 (0.75 pitch) adopted by most eScooter brake levers, allowing connectivity to existing levers such as Zoom, Logan and NUTT. The steel braided flexi whip hose shown on the right accommodates the higher-end TurboBrake HB427-4M calliper.
   
   
5. Bracket offset (height) is the distance from centre of threaded hole in the bracket that connects to the scooter to the surface of the edge of bracket where the calliper sits. Sometimes brackets are labelled with a nameplate on the underside. Image below contrasts some of the brackets as observed on Kaabo/Zoom callipers:
